Audrey, commonly referred to as the Cellist, is Phil Coulson's former love interest. She had a relationship with him until Coulson's death and subsequent recovery.
Biography
Before the Battle of New York, and his death at the hands of Loki, Phil Coulson was romantically involved with Audrey. When Pepper Potts inquired about the cellist Coulson was dating, he replied that she had moved back to Portland.[2] In Portland, she obtained a position as a second chair in Portland Symphony Orchestra. Whenever Coulson was in town, he saw her play[3] and he often invited her to dinner at the Richmond.[4]
Tony Stark offered to fly Coulson out to Portland on a weekend of his choice in order to "keep love alive".[5]
When S.H.I.E.L.D. informed Audrey of Coulson's death, she was devastated, and cried for days.[6] Unknown to her, however, Coulson had been revived by S.H.I.E.L.D., and after months of laying low, Coulson had to keep S.H.I.E.L.D. protocol, and, even knowing her current whereabouts, thought it would be best to leave Audrey alone.[7]
