The Watchdogs are an organization that is hostile towards Inhumans.

History Edit

The Watchdogs were formed after the Battle of New York and originally only existed as an online community of people spouting hate speech about aliens and powered people, but became even more hostile after the Sokovia incident. S.H.I.E.L.D. was monitoring their online presence at the time, but didn't consider them a genuine threat.

After former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Felix Blake joined them, the Watchdogs became a domestic terrorist organization with Blake and Hydra supplying them with weapons. Furthermore, according to Blake, the Watchdogs are a national organization with members all over the country.

Recent History Edit

In "Watchdogs," the Watchdogs release a video of them imploding an ATCU storage facility in South Bend, Indiana. The Watchdogs believe that the ATCU, and the federal government in general, are protecting powered people and demand a list of names and locations of all powered people the government knows about.

After interrogating a member of the Watchdogs, Daisy learns where their next meeting is. She, Mack, and Fitz spy on the meeting, but their cover is blown when Mack's brother unexpectedly drives up. A shootout ensues and Fitz is shot with a nitramene bullet, but Daisy is able to stop the implosion with liquid nitrogen.

Later, however, one of the Watchdogs Daisy captured taunts them by saying a team of Watchdogs followed Mack and his brother from the farm back to their house to kill Mack because the Watchdogs think he's an Inhuman. However, despite being out numbered and out-gunned, Mack is able to take down the Watchdog team sent to kill him and protect his brother, too. Daisy and S.H.I.E.L.D. then arrive to treat Mack's injuries and turn the captured Watchdogs over to the ATCU to be arrested.

Season Four Edit

In "Uprising," an EMP in Miami causes a city-wide blackout and it's soon revealed the blackout was caused by a terrorist organization called the Inhuman Resistance that threatens to blackout a major city every hour unless every country in the world voids the Sokovia Accords. However, it's later revealed that the Inhuman Resistance is a subsidiary of the Watchdogs and that every city experiencing a blackout has at least one inhuman working with S.H.I.E.L.D. living it. The blackouts are only a distraction and while the city is dark the Watchdogs are hunting inhumans, killing them off one at a time.

Elena was at a bachelorette party for one of her friends in Miami when the blackout happened. A team of Watchdogs bursts in and prevents anyone from leaving, saying they have information an inhuman is at the party. They think the party's magician is the inhuman and are about to kill him, but Elena uses her super speed to steal their guns. However, one of the hostages sees Elena use her power and reveals her as the inhuman. Mack, Coulson, and Fitz then arrive to rescue Elena and take down the Watchdogs.

Fitz is able to track the EMP's to the Watchdog's Miami base where Elena and the others successfully deactivate the EMP device. Later, Mace holds a press conference to assure people the inhumans did not cause the blackouts, the Watchdogs did, and S.H.I.E.L.D. will stop them.

In "Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire," Daisy and Simmons learn the Watchdogs have discovered James' location and go to warn him. However, James lures them into a trap and reveals he's now a member of the Watchdogs. Daisy creates an earthquake which disorients them allowing her and Simmons to escape. James and the Watchdogs chase after them, but Coulson, Mack, and Ghost Rider arrive and help them take down the villains.

In "Broken Promises," Senator Nadeer's brother, Vijay, wakes up inside his families lakeside vacation home where his sister greets him and tells him she brought him her to recuperate after going through terrigenesis. However, Nadder later reveals she's a member of the Watchdogs and brought her brother here so the Watchdogs could kill him. However, Vijay pleads with his sister prompting her to have a change of heart and she orders the soldiers to lower their guns.

Later, one of the Watchdogs gets a call from "the superior" who orders him to kill the inhuman. The Watchdogs try to kill Vijay, but he fights them off using his power. After the fight, Nadeer convinces her brother to leave with her, but as they're flying away in the Watchdogs helicopter Nadeer shoots Vijay and throws his body into the lake. Nadeer then declares they need to strike back against S.H.I.E.L.D.

In "The Patriot," a team of mercenaries (all former Hydra agents) are hired by the Watchdogs to assassinate Mace. However, after a manhunt through the wilderness, Mace survives the assassination attempt and S.H.I.E.L.D. stops the mercenaries.

The Inhuman Resistance Edit

The Inhuman Resistance is a subsidiary organization of the Watchdogs that's purpose is to spread fear and paranoia of inhumans and possibly provoke a war between humans and inhumans. The Resistance's M.O. is they commit acts of terrorism like the blackouts that occurred in cities around the world in "Uprising" and frame the inhumans for the attacks.

Trivia Edit

  • The weapon of choice for the Watchdogs are guns supplied to them by Blake that fire nitramene bullets which cause any object they shoot with them to implode.
